DAVID GRUBER

A dedicated architecture student driven by a passion for creating spaces that harmonize functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. I have had my eyes on architecture since I can remember, and thoroughly enjoy testing boundaries and working technically to solve problems.

After studying a masters degree at Robert Gordon University, I learned many skills that gave me the knowledge and confidence to focus on sustainability and the environment.

I have made a full experience out of my University education, being a member of the 57°10 Society (Scott Sutherland School's architecture society), and participating greatly in university events, workshops and classes throughout the years. I have served as a student ambassador with dedication to the university and student representative for the school, both for various years.

Contributions

Passion

Always seeking creative solutions, pursuing diverse projects, employing various techniques to achieve specific goals. I'm captivated by sustainable technology advancements and the fusion of cultures to treat technical issues. I appreciate environmental integration in new projects and the respect buildings show for their surroundings. Each challenge is a chance to explore innovative solutions and experiment with emerging materials and technology.

Transforming abstract concepts into tangible structures and using classic spatial criteria for initial design brings satisfaction to my work. I strive to make a meaningful impact on the industry and create healthy environments that benefit those who inhabit them.

Philosophy

In my architectural approach, simplicity and functionality are paramount. I believe that design should seamlessly integrate with its surroundings, enhancing both the aesthetic and practical aspects of a space. Sustainability is at the core of my philosophy; I strive to create environmentally responsible designs that leave a minimal ecological footprint.

I love to breach the normals of architectural practice while maintaining professionalism in order to excel in my designs. I like to diversify the context of my projects to ignite new challenges and cultural openings to inspire and drive my designs.

About Me

I originate from Edinburgh and must always have something to be working on. Alternatively, kayaking, painting and ticking countries of my list are going through my head. I have become unhealthily obsessed with coffee art and 3D printing lately, and enjoy exploring new coffee shops and places to relax. I find projects to do in my free time of various nature, and find excuses to 3D print parts to solve issues instead of resorting to Amazon.
